Last month, some outlets reported that Gavin Porter, the nephew of Tyler Perry had committed suicide. He was found hanging in solitary confinement on 25th February by the authorities of prison, in which he was sentenced to serve for 20 years.
Following this, Tyler Perry had announced that the family had hired a forensic expert to look into the matter and find out the cause of his nephew’s death. He explained that he only wanted to confirm that everything happened according to what the authorities had suggested.
And, on Friday, following the results obtained by Dr. Michael Baden, Tyler perry and family confirm their nephew died from suicide.
On his Facebook page, Tyler explained that he had spoken to Dr. Michael Baden to get confirmed about the statement of Sheriff Gates. The answers would definitely not mitigate the grief but help in the moving of the grieving process, as stated by the filmmaker.
Gavin Porter was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison for killing his father in front of his mother. On a previous occasion, Tyler had mentioned that he wanted his nephew to start working in the Tyler Perry Studios, in order to start a normal life.
The 26-year-old Gavin died in Farmerville, Louisiana, while serving at the Union Parish Detention Center. On his Instagram profile, the creator of the Madea said that he and the family weren’t confirmed of the cause of his death.
Perry wrote that he agreed to the officials yet it was important for him to find out the actual truth, solely due to the errors made by the ‘criminal justice system and prisons’ that engage in covering up the cases and hiding the truth from the public.
It is quite possible that Perry is referring to the sudden demise of Jeffrey Epstein, the charged sex offender, who had died last summer from an alleged suicide.
