The HUF Awards is one of the longest-running most celebrated Father’s Day events in Los Angeles. For more than 19 years, Judge Mablean Ephriam and the Mablean Ephriam Foundation have celebrated fathers in an annual award ceremony.
Honoring Unsung Fathers focuses on the often-overlooked efforts of fathers and provides thousands of dollars annually to assist needing students with scholarship money to go to school as well as money to keep students in school that are already there.
This year, because of Covid-19 the ceremony and event will be held virtually.
As usual, there is an amazing show planned, filled with celebrities and entertainers alike. Mike Philips – saxophonist extraordinaire always and without a doubt will wow us again along with our special musical guest, the legendary Grammy Award Winning artist, Karen Clark-Sheard.
We are honoring some of the best in class this year, Founder of Entertainment Studios and media mogul Byron Allen will receive the MEF Founders Award, while newly elected Presiding Bishop of The COGIC International Bishop Drew Sheard will accept the Board of Directors Award.
From Tiffany Haddish to Vanessa Bell-Calloway including Rene Lawless, there will be talent galore as we are all overwhelmed with laughter from our annual host, comedian Michael Colyar.
As if that weren’t enough, this year’s Honorary Chairman is the legendary crooner Mr. Freddie Jackson.
