(YourDigitalWall Editorial):- New York City, New York Aug 4, 2022 (Issuewire.com) – Coming straight off the release of her highly relatable project Gangsta Bitch Love Songs, DVMA wasted no time putting her hat in the ring as a contender for “song of the summer”, combining the culture clash no one knew they needed. DVMA was born and raised in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Wayne Wonder and Sean Paul played at their Middle School dances, while the kids wined and did the willy bounce. Russian clubs play songs in Spanish and Arabic, and everyone knows the words. It’s a Brooklyn thing. So with that in mind, DVMA made the first ever Brooklyn Russian Dancehall track called “SKUNT 101”. The track is fun, playful, sexy, and nostalgic. The chorus, sung in Russian, is basically “No Letting Go” by Wayne Wonder. There are also clear influences from Father Phylis and Missy Elliot. The production is also a medley, with a combination of DATBOYCRAIG, Soze, and Avenue Beatz (who has produced for a lot of our favorites in the industry). Speaking of Nostalgia, remember VH1’s “Pop Up Video”? In the 90s, when music channels played music videos, and if you wanted to watch them you would have to wait, sometimes all day. Well, DVMA brought it back. The music video for SKUNT 101 (shot and edited by Ashlee Serena), is, in fact, a Pop Up Video. As you watch DVMA try to “bag” a girl, and cause havoc in her neighborhood of Brighton Beach, you will see all kinds of facts, jokes, and quips pop up. This video is as fun to watch as the song is to listen to. Enjoy responsibly!
