‘Snow White’ Seems to Make Good Money Despite Its Terrible Representation

It is quite hard to watch a film with Zionist Israeli Actress Gal Gadot on it. However, the actress made her place in the industry and is currently one of the highly paid performers. Still, it feels really awkward to watch her on the big screen while the ongoing genocide of Palestine is continued by Israel.

Now, let’s come to the movie. ‘Snow White’ is one of the iconic stories that is a part of most grown-ups’ childhood. This is why, it is not just the children but even adults who were interested in watching this movie, and they did. Despite receiving valid bad reviews, people still went to watch it for the sake of their kids and it helped the movie gain commercial success globally.

Disney wants to make a live-action version of every fairy tale as if they will bring a person who can play a magical character or a creature. But that is the trend now and that is what they are doing. The classic fairy tale Snow White was popular around the world and the movie has now topped the box office in North America. However, the waves of underwhelming reviews were not wrong.

The movie has made a total of $87.3 million globally on its opening weekend and will be running for more in the theaters. With its success in America, the producers have gained much but still, it cost them $270 million to create this awful movie with hefty CGI work.

While there are no significant changes in the storyline, the reworking of the 1937 feature-length animation created a series of controversies before its release. The revamp of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs became a hot topic for social and political divisions. It is the cast of the movie that makes people disappointed.

The character of Snow White is played by Rachel Ziegler, a Colombian descent, while snow white is a white character only. Disney’s habit of pushing diversity where not needed is evident in many cases and in this film too.

However, what people disliked the most were Zegler’s pro-Palestinian comments and pro-Israel comments by Israeli actress Gal Gadot. It created a backlash earlier however it worked for both of them in securing their places in the industry. Right after commenting on ‘Free Palestine’ a lot of backlash was created for the actress and a lot of people from the industry to asked her stay ‘safe’.

Okay, let’s just forget about Snow White and the Evil Queen. What about the seven Dwarfs? Again, Disney tried to push diversity where not needed and did not cast dwarf actors for the scenes because they thought it would be better to keep 7 CGI dwarfs in a live-action movie.

Snow White has a critics’ score of just 44% on Rotten Tomatoes and The Guardian’s Wendy Ide described it as “toe-curlingly terrible”. However, it also received some positive comments. Now, it is up to you whether you want to watch the movie or not!
