Throughout his career, Schlottman has demonstrated a commitment to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and operational excellence. Currently serving at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he functions as a Clinical Rehab Specialist and clinical lead, supporting quality improvement initiatives, staff development, mentorship programs, and clinical education while providing specialized care for patients experiencing chronic pain, sports injuries, post-surgical conditions, inflammatory disorders, and spinal dysfunction.

“Patient care is most effective when clinical excellence, education, and innovation work together,” said Schlottman. “My goal has always been to improve outcomes not only for individual patients but also for organizations and communities through better systems, prevention strategies, and collaborative healthcare delivery.”
Prior to his current role, Schlottman held numerous leadership positions across outpatient orthopedics, occupational health, private practice, home care, and manufacturing-based healthcare settings. As Director of Physical Therapy for a specialty orthopedic practice, he successfully launched and expanded clinical operations, developed physician and community partnerships, implemented operational workflows, trained staff, conducted performance evaluations, and oversaw key performance metrics.
His work within occupational health programs has also produced measurable impact. Through ergonomic interventions, injury-prevention initiatives, early identification strategies, and return-to-work programs, Schlottman helped reduce workplace injuries and improve employee health outcomes in manufacturing environments. As National Musculoskeletal Program Champion for Premise Health Systems, he mentored clinicians nationwide and contributed to the development of innovative occupational health practice models.
Schlottman’s contributions to patient care and healthcare leadership have earned multiple professional distinctions, including recognition by the American Health Council as “Best in Patient Care” in 2018 and his recent selection for “America’s Best in Medicine” in 2026.
He earned his Master of Science in Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Healthcare Administration and Operational Leadership at Grand Canyon University, where his research focuses on injured-worker case management models, healthcare utilization, cost containment, and injury outcomes. His scholarly interests also include occupational injury epidemiology, healthcare systems performance, and the influence of macroeconomic conditions on workplace injury trends.
Looking ahead, Schlottman plans to further integrate clinical practice, healthcare operations, and academic research to develop innovative employer-focused healthcare programs through large hospital networks. He also aspires to contribute to higher education through teaching and research roles in health sciences.
