Myanmar has witnessed one of the deadliest incidents recently. A 7.7 magnitude earthquake took place in the second-largest city of the country, which shocked people from all around. As of now, 700 bodies have been pulled out from the wreckage of buildings. All the tall buildings of the city have devasted within a blink of an eye. The television channel of the state, MRTV has reported 694 have been found dead. In addition to that, it is also coming to know that nearly 1670 people are injured.
The report says, 68 people are missing and there are no traces of them. The government is trying to improve the situation as soon as possible. The condition of Myanmar is in a dangerous state, which is now one of the biggest concerns of all. This country has always faced a huge humanitarian crisis. On Friday, this devastating incident took place. Near Mandalay, the first earthquake took place. After that, many aftershocks were also there that made the whole scenario even worse. The aftershocks were of nearly 6.4 magnitude. And that has made the buildings topple and then eventually collapse. All the roads and bridges have been destroyed in the country.
Min Aung Hlaing, the Senior Gen. of Myanmar’s military government has said that they are expecting a death toll. He said the number of dead people would rise as they have already found 144 people dead. This single incident changed the dynamic of the country with a click and it will take several years for Myanmar to come to this level. This is quite a heartbreaking thing for the country.
This earthquake didn’t stop in Myanmar it extended too far and hit the greater Bangkok, Thailand. It is home to more than 17 million people. Right now, most of the people live in high-rise buildings in the country. Thus, they have also felt the earthquake quite intensely. As the earthquake hit Bangkok and stopped, six people died, 26 were severely injured, and 47 were missing.
