Davida Coleman’s ‘What Does Your Heaven Look Like?’ Invites Reflection at BIBF 2026

Explora Books featured What Does Your Heaven Look Like? by Davida Coleman at the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), held June 17–21 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing.

(YourDigitalWall Editorial):- Vancouver, British Columbia Jul 29, 2026 (Issuewire.com) – Displayed at Explora Books’s booth throughout the five-day event, the book formed part of the publisher’s international exhibition showcase. This year’s BIBF marked the fair’s 40th anniversary, bringing together over 1,700 exhibitors from 82 countries and regions and showcasing 220,000 book titles alongside over 1,000 cultural exchange activities. The United Arab Emirates served as Country of Honor, with programming centered on tolerance, shared values, and dialogue across cultures and traditions. The Beijing International Publishing Forum convened under the theme “Using Books as a Medium to Facilitate Communication and Dialogue, Leading to Cooperative Success for All Parties Involved”–a theme that aligned with the book’s reflections on faith, imagination, and how people envision what lies beyond life.

Equal parts picture book and spiritual invitation, What Does Your Heaven Look Like? moves through a series of gentle, imaginative prompts: clouds that carry readers to faraway places, welcoming rooms where no one lacks an address, angels who sing readers to sleep, carnivals filled with Ferris wheels and cotton candy, and streets paved with gold. Each question opens a space for readers to fill with their own image of paradise. The book closes on a quiet note of grace: “In my heaven, this is all free, just like you and me.” Written in warm, rhythmic language and drawing scripture from the Living Bible, it speaks to children encountering questions of faith for the first time and to adults returning to them.

Coleman conceived the book during the COVID-19 pandemic, when widespread grief and physical separation left many families unable to say goodbye to loved ones. That origin gives the book its particular weight: the playful questions are also acts of comfort, rooted in the conviction that love and care leave a lasting imprint. At a fair where the UAE’s Country of Honor programming placed interfaith dialogue and shared humanity at the center, What Does Your Heaven Look Like? offered something rare–a children’s title that addresses mortality with lightness and hope, offering readers a language of comfort that remains open across denominations, generations, and cultural backgrounds.

Davida Coleman is a writer, poet, artist, youth mentor, and founder of Soul One, a private counseling practice in California.

What Does Your Heaven Look Like is available through Amazon and other major online bookstores.
