New Jersey and New York Have Flooded Due to Heavy Rainfall

Heavy downpours in the Northeast have caused floods in New Jersey and New York. Due to the natural calamities, highways are closed as of now. The Northeast side of the United States has witnessed torrential rain. On Monday, the rain caused floods in several places in New York and New Jersey. Currently, both places are in an emergency state, which is making things difficult for all citizens.

It is coming to know that the communities in both these cities are in a crucial state. People are struggling to use any commutes. There is a huge disruption in these two cities due to the flood. Several video clips of the accident have been shared on social media. And people from all around the world have been stunned after seeing the damage.

It is also coming to see that in the subway stations in Manhattan, the flood has become extremely dangerous. One has also shared a few videos on X, stating ‘#NewYork woke to a rude shock. #FlasFloods inundated homes, #Subways, #MetroLines, #Tristate #NewJersey [ Emergency], with #Parkways,#Expressways closed.Commuting is a nightmare; vehicles stranded.#NationalWeatherService alerts for FlashFloods. #WeatherCrises #ClimateEmergency’.

Another one has also shared a video of the subway on social media and said, ‘The flooding in the NY subways are crazy! What is going on with all these flash floods?’. Everyone is shocked after witnessing the situation. No one expected that 4 to 6 inches of rain overnight in the northeast of New Jersey and Pennsylvania would cause this much disruption.

The government of New Jersey is taking actions to provide as much safety as possible. They are trying to reroute the commuters or close the transportation until the situation gets better. The New Jersey Governor, Philip D. Murphy, has said ‘I have declared a State of Emergency out of an abundance of caution due to flash flooding and severe thunderstorms across the state’. He even stated ‘I urge New Jerseyans to exercise caution, follow all safety protocols, and remain off the roads unless absolutely necessary’.
