Harlem nonprofit launches July 4 pilot combining confidence-building programming with a structured community meal card system for girls ages 6–15.
(YourDigitalWall Editorial):- New York City, New York Apr 13, 2026 (Issuewire.com) – Black Girl Magic Day Launches Pilot Program Combining Confidence-Building Experiences with Community Meal Support for Girls
Black Girl Magic Day (BGMD), a Harlem-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering young girls through confidence, creativity, and community, is proud to announce the launch of its BGMD Club Pilot Program, beginning July 4, 2026.
The pilot will serve a limited group of selected girls ages 6-15, offering a structured, virtual afterschool-style experience focused on confidence-building, self-expression, and meaningful engagement. Through guided activities, mentorship, and small-group interaction, the program is designed to create a safe and supportive space where girls can grow and thrive.
As part of the pilot, BGMD is also introducing a Community Meal Program, aimed at supporting participating families while strengthening local partnerships. Each girl in the program will receive access to a digital meal card that can be used at participating locations.
The meal card system is designed to be simple and accessible. Participants will present their card at approved locations, where it will be scanned and redeemed for a structured meal option. This approach allows BGMD to ensure consistency, track participation, and build a scalable model for future expansion.
“This pilot is about building something that truly works for our girls and our families,” said Tanika Salmon, Founder and Executive Director of Black Girl Magic Day. “We’re combining confidence-building with real support, and we’re doing it in a way that’s intentional, structured, and rooted in community.”
The July pilot will serve as the foundation for BGMD’s broader rollout planned for Fall 2026, which will expand access through school partnerships and additional community collaborations.
Schools will have the opportunity to participate in multiple ways, including referring families, supporting virtual participation in classroom settings, and participating in future program extensions.
BGMD is currently preparing for its pilot launch while continuing to build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local businesses.
