Mansfield, Texas — Jason Lee, DMSc, PA-C, is a doctorally trained, board-certified Physician Associate (PA-C) and orthopedic specialist whose work spans clinical practice, advanced practice provider education, and organizational leadership. As Director of Advanced Practice and APP Residency Director at Direct Orthopedic Care, he leads one of the country’s few dedicated orthopedic postgraduate training programs for APPs, now in its sixth year with more than 40 program alumni practicing as musculoskeletal specialists nationwide.
Dr. Lee serves in dual leadership roles at Direct Orthopedic Care, overseeing advanced practice operations across multiple clinic sites while simultaneously directing a postgraduate residency program that has become a model for orthopedic APP training. Graduates of the program have gone on to practice as musculoskeletal specialists in communities across the country, expanding access to high-quality orthopedic care in areas where specialist availability is limited.
In clinical practice, Dr. Lee focuses on sports injuries, fracture care, joint degeneration, and overuse conditions. His approach centers on restoring mobility and getting patients back to the activities they care about most: returning to work, competing in athletics, or simply moving through the day without pain.
Beyond his own practice, Dr. Lee is an active national speaker whose platform covers orthopedic and musculoskeletal medicine, early practice transition for new graduates, APP leadership and mentorship, and business strategy in healthcare. He has presented at regional and national conferences, including the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA) and has been featured on podcasts reaching APP audiences across the country. He also creates continuing medical education content, bringing evidence-based education to practicing clinicians nationwide.

Dr. Lee serves on the Continuing Medical Education Committee for the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, contributing to educational programming for practicing PAs across the state. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates and a Fellow of the Academy of Doctoral PAs. He has authored multiple works spanning leadership, APP postgraduate education, and musculoskeletal medicine, and serves as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer for several PA programs.
Dr. Lee earned undergraduate degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Central Michigan University, completed his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and later earned his Doctor of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg, along with doctoral certificates in Executive Leadership and Healthcare Administration and Management.
Through his clinical work, organizational leadership, and national contributions to APP education, Dr. Lee continues to advocate for team-based care and the expanding role of Advanced Practice Providers in modern healthcare.
