The project is now complete and open to the public. It was designed and built by Spencer Svonavec and the Rockwood Stone team to improve safety, visibility, and convenience for trail users at the Rockwood access point.
The Great Allegheny Passage spans 150 miles connecting Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Cumberland, Maryland, drawing thousands of cyclists, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts each year. The Rockwood Trailhead serves as a key entry point along the route, and the new entrance constructed by Spencer Svonavec and Rockwood Stone enhances the experience for all who use it.
Spencer Svonavec funded, constructed, and donated the project in its entirety at no cost to the trail or the community.
