The scholarship, valued at $1,000, will be awarded to the winner of the essay competition, and is open to students currently enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a business major or high school students getting ready to enter a university to study business.

The scholarship was established by Dayne Yeager, a successful entrepreneur, and CEO of Performance Truck, who believes in the importance of supporting future business leaders. “I am delighted to offer this scholarship to students who have a passion for entrepreneurship and a desire to make a positive impact on the world through their business endeavors,” said Dayne Yeager.

In order to be eligible to apply, students should be currently enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a business major, with a focus on students who wish to launch their own businesses. Also eligible are high school students getting ready to enter a university to study business. The scholarship will be awarded to the winner of our essay competition. One winner will be selected with the best creative essay of under 1000 words which answers the question: “How would you define success for your future business?”

The scholarship provides a one-time award of $1,000, and the deadline to apply is July 15, 2023. The winner will be announced on August 15, 2023.

The Dayne Yeager Scholarship for Entrepreneurs is an excellent opportunity for students to gain financial support and recognition for their entrepreneurial endeavors. The scholarship also provides students with the opportunity to showcase their creativity and passion for business, while gaining valuable experience in essay writing and entrepreneurship.

Dayne Yeager, the founder of the scholarship, is a successful entrepreneur and CEO of Performance Truck. He was born in Houston, Texas in 1970 and was raised in Shepherd, Texas. He played football and baseball growing up, and he also had success showing animals. Dayne was elected local FFA and 4-H President, and was given the position of District FFA officer. He earned the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship, and went on to get his degree in agribusiness from Texas A&M, graduating on the Dean’s list. In 1990, he got into team roping and continued that until 2005. In 1994, Dayne began working for Performance Truck. Shortly after, he was offered the position of General Manager in 2005. Today he owns 20% of the company. Dayne additionally took on the role of CEO in 2018. Outside of work, Mr. Yeager is the father of two children with his first wife, and he is now remarried. The family spends the majority of their time either at Long Shot Ranch in Freer or at Long Shot Lodge in Aransas Pass with their family, friends, and clients.
