Adele Gets Teary as She Completed Her Two-year Long Vegas Residency

The week has been pretty emotional for Adele, who has just completed her two-year-long Vegas residency. The ‘Hello’ singer got incredibly tearful as she bowed out of Caesars Palace for the last time. This final show marked 100 Weekends With Adele shows in the 4,000-capacity venue in Las Vegas. In the final moments, the 36-year-old singer addressed the audience and admitted that she “doesn’t know” when she will be back on stage. This announcement comes after the Grammy winner shared earlier this year her wishes to take a long break from music and performing.

“I’m so sad this residency is over, but I am so glad that it happened; I really, really am,” she said addressing the crowd. “‘I will miss it terribly. I will miss you terribly. I don’t know when I next want to perform again” the singer confessed.

The footage captured during the show was then posted on social media and it showed the musician reflecting on the turbulent start of her Vegas residency. The initial residency was set to begin in January 2022. However, the inaugural show with just 24 hours notice by the star after a Covid outbreak among production staff delayed her set. At the time of the postponement, the singer made an emotional video sobbing as she apologized profusely. She also insisted that she could not perform because her show was not ready.

Now, reminiscing on the drama, Adele told fans this weekend “It got off to such a f****ed rocky way; it was one of the worst years of my life.” “I was being punched around; it was horrible, and I was told it was career suicide and Vegas would never forgive me for [canceling] so last minute,”  she continued. “But we were talking as a team earlier. That’s when I first started crying. Had I done that show I canceled, I certainly wouldn’t be standing here tonight doing my 100th show.”

The singer then added, “If something doesn’t feel right to you, in anything, don’t f***ing do it; it doesn’t matter what, and I am talking about gut instinct; if something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.” The ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ artist concluded “I am bursting with pride, and I am so proud of myself and so proud of my team, the band, and my fans. I’m so thankful to Vegas for giving me that second chance.”

Fans have traveled from all over the world to Vegas to see Adele perform. Some of them already arrived from other countries in Vegas on the night she was set to perform initially. “We’ve tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid,” Adele told her followers at the time on the video. “I’m gutted — I’m sorry it’s so last minute; we’ve been awake for over 30 hours trying to figure it out, and we’ve run out of time,” she said.
