Texas Teen TommyG Takes His Talent From Katy to Broadway, and We’re Here For It!

TommyG

Meet TommyG—soccer star, smooth singer, and rising talent straight out of Katy, Texas. If you haven’t heard of him yet, don’t worry. You will.

At just 13, TommyG’s already performed on some of the coolest stages in Texas and New York, dropped his own original song, and somehow still finds time to belt out country classics at local Oprys. Whether he’s covering Chris Stapleton or vibing to his own lyrics in “Good Life Lovin’,” TommyG’s got that something that makes people stop and listen.

And this summer? Total game-changer.

In June, TommyG took a bite out of the Big Apple by attending the Musical Theater Summer Intensive at the Joffrey Ballet School. Yep—that Joffrey. One of the top schools in the world. He trained hard, sang his heart out, danced his sneakers off, and got a taste of Broadway-style magic through shows like Wicked and The Lion King. Not bad for someone who started out singing at school assemblies and talent shows.

Then came July. TommyG got selected to join a Global Band through Kids Rock For Kids and hit legendary NYC venues like The Mercury Lounge, The Bitter End, and Drom. Big names. Big sound. Big city. From the streets of Brooklyn to the clubs of Manhattan, TommyG held his own onstage alongside insanely talented young musicians from across the world—like powerhouse drummer Yoyoka from Japan and bass genius Maximo from Chile.

Back home, he’s still repping his Texas roots. When he’s not in New York, you’ll catch him performing at the Alvin Opry or singing at local shows, channeling that country soul with songs like “Chicken Fried” and “Tennessee Whiskey.” Fans love that mix—pop energy with country heart and a little something else that’s hard to put your finger on.

TommyG’s 2024 track “Good Life Lovin’” feels like a sunny summer dream. Waves, cruisers, a little heartbreak, and a whole lot of good vibes—it’s the kind of song you play loud while riding with the windows down. And if you haven’t seen the “SIO” video yet, you might want to check it out—it’s got a mood all its own.

So where did it all start? For TommyG, it was in primary school, singing in front of classmates and asking for extra vocal lessons during lockdown. His sister inspired him, his dad supported him, and a whole crew of teachers helped him turn that early passion into serious stage presence.

Now, with a growing fanbase and performances across the country, TommyG’s building something real. He’s part of the band PANGEA (watch that space), and with new music and more shows ahead, he’s not slowing down anytime soon.
