With Bonus Top 2010s Shown, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Grabs the Top Position in NPD Charts for Three Months In A Row

The NPD Group had released their complete North American sales data in December, 2019. But then, contrary to expectations, the month had not been quite fruitful for the industry, as consumers chose to spend more than $2.98 billion on hardware, and hence the demand for games fell to 15 percent in comparison to December 2018.

Despite the availability of great bundles on offer, the sales of hardware did witness a fall of 17 percent year after year. At that moment, Nintendo Switch was at the numero uno spot for that particular month, earning sales year after year, but leaving out Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which grabbed the bottom spot representing the hardware sales. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Tops NPD Charts Again For Three Months Consistently, With Bonus Top 2010s Shown.

No recent games in the software section managed to make it to the top 20. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, however, remained at the #1 position for three months at a stretch, with the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order grabbing the second position again. Madden and NBA 2K got hold of the #3 and #4 spot respectively. The game Luigi’s Mansion 3 got hold of the #5 spot. Although the game Pokemon Sword and Shield followed suit, Death Stranding failed to retain its position in the list.
