In the Last of Us Part II, the enemies are going to be smarter as explained by the director of Naughty Dog

As we are approaching The Last of Us Part II’s release date finally, that has been scheduled originally and was all set to be released on the platform of PlayStation 4 first in February and then in May and now it is all geared up to be released on in the last part of this month- a ton of details has been provided by Naughty Dog regarding the highly anticipated horror and survival sequel.

While speaking with the co-director of the game The Last of Us Part II, Ungeek, Anthony Newman, who spoke about how was instrumental in making the AI enemies very different in the upcoming sequel, and also said that this time the enemies are going to be a lot smarter than the previous edition of the game or simply in the first game. Newman went on to say that in the game The last of Us Part II, this middle state was introduced which has honored the fact that if it is witnessed by someone that their friend is getting killed with an arrow in front of them, it is for sure that they are going to be alerted as they know for a fact that someone has done that. But they must not know where it came from in the first place to mention precisely. There is a kind of vague awareness that is in a middle state. So, as and when you play the game, the enemies could be heard who says something like who will think that it came from over there and they will be sort of uncertain about the location of yours but they will have a relatively fair idea from where you came from.

It is hardly going to be a brand new feature for the version of the stealth games that have various enemy alerts of different states, especially for the fact that if your familiarity with the franchise of Metal Gear Solid. Nevertheless, the enemies in the legendary series of action and stealth game Hideo Kojima were not necessarily challenging enough and they did not even try to formulate various strategies so that the actions of the players can be countered. So, it is going to be very interesting to look forward to various states of alerts that are handled in the upcoming game The Last of Us Part II and it is irrespective of the fact that there are patterns that are consistent as to know about the enemy reactions of AI when Ellie has been discovered.

Those enemies who have a vague idea about where Ellie is residing can be used in favor of the players and can be very advantageous as you will have the opportunity to lay out traps as you move to an all-new different area altogether.

Furthermore, the enemies are going to be much smarter in combat after the point in time when Ellie has been discovered, as they will join forces and work in tandem so that the main protagonist of the game is flanked as they will try hard to flush her out all with various things like Molotov Cocktails. But as the AI enemies are going to be smarter in both the aspects that are in and out of the combat things is not going to be unfair regarding the players.

As of now, we are slightly over the mark of two weeks from the time where the release of the game The Last of Us Part II is all set and is ready to be unleashed which is going to be the next game that will be coming from Naughty Dog barring any unforeseen circumstances. The game is going to meet its release date on 19th June that has been intended quite a long time back.
