Nasa has just announced its next two missions where it is going to be Venus to examine its atmosphere, environment, and geological features.

Each has a fund of $500m (£352m) and a deadline for launching rockets between 2028 to 2030.

Nasa administrator Bill Nelson said the missions would offer the “chance to investigate a planet we haven’t been to in more than 30 years”.

The last US Project that went close to the planet was the Magellan orbiter in 1990.

The anticipation quickly escalated among the enthusiasts, experts, and reporters about the feasibility of the project. Mr. Nelson said, “These two sister missions both aim to understand how Venus became an inferno-like world, capable of melting lead at the surface.”

The Davinci+ (Deep Atmosphere Venus Investigation of Noble gases, Chemistry, and Imaging) mission is supposed to measure and determine the planet’s atmosphere to have a better insight into the planet’s stability. With an intricate study, it provides an of water or if any kind sea was there.

Venus is the second planet from the sun and the hottest planet in the solar system with a surface temperature of 500C. It lead can melt at that high temperature.

The second mission, Veritas (Venus Emissivity, Radio Science, InSAR, Topography, and Spectroscopy), will map the planet’s surface to understand its geological history and investigate how it developed so differently than Earth.

This is going to be one of the most advanced projects by Nasa to further explore the other planets of the Solar System. Comparing its features with Earth can provide a better idea it ever had or can have a possibility of living of any kind of life form.

Tom Wagner from Nasa’s Planetary Science Division said, “It is astounding how little we know about Venus, but the combined results of these missions will tell us about the planet from the clouds in the sky through the volcanoes on its surface all the way down to its very core.”

He also added that “It will be as if we have rediscovered the planet.”
